Special Education Needs (SEN)

At Greenholm Primary School, we are proud of our commitment to being an inclusive school. We believe that every child deserves an equal opportunity to reach their full potential, and we ensure that children with additional needs receive the support they need to thrive.

Our approach includes making adaptations to the curriculum, offering support for emotional and social development, and providing individualised programmes when necessary.

We aim to keep open and honest communication with families throughout the process. We understand that each child’s needs are unique, and we want to ensure that parents and carers feel supported every step of the way. We offer various communication channels to ensure we are easily accessible for any questions or concerns.

As part of our commitment to SEND support, we collaborate with a range of external agencies, including:

  • Pupil School Support
  • Educational Psychologists
  • Communication and Autism Specialist Teachers

We also carefully monitor each child’s progress, ensuring that both academic and personal development are supported as part of an adaptive approach to learning.

OFSTED Feedback

In our most recent OFSTED report (November 2022), it was highlighted that:

Those pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) achieve well. Their extra needs are identified accurately by skilled members of the SEND team. Leaders work effectively with outside agencies to provide any additional support required. School leaders and staff go the extra mile for this specific group of pupils.

If you have any questions or need more details, please don’t hesitate to contact our office team, who will be happy to arrange a time to speak with the SENCo.
